24 Jan

Do you need to take a screen capture of a video, webpage, photo or document? Are you still using the ctrl + prtscn shortcut key trick? If you want a simple program that will save you the effort of using an shortcut key and get a better looking image, then try out Tinytake. I have been using it for a couple of years and it’s suitable. There is one drawback – it does not do too well with capturing a long scrolling webpage. If you need a quick screen grab, then I would suggest this tool. What screen capture tool do you use professionally?

What is Your Personality Type?

17 Jan

Have you ever taken the Myers-Briggs test? The test is proven is give you your personality type. Below is a link to a free online MBTI test. So wait a minute, how was this discovered and is it accurate?

According to the site, “It started with Carl Gustav Jung, the father of analytical psychology. He discovered the concept of Introversion and Extraversion – he theorized that each of us falls into one of these two categories, either focusing on the internal world (Introvert) or the outside world (Extravert). In the 1920s, Jung’s theory was noticed by Katharine Cook Briggs, who later co-authored one of the most popular personality indicators used today, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®). Briggs was a teacher with an avid interest in personality typing, having developed her own type theory before learning of Jung’s writings. Together with her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers, they developed a convenient way to describe the order of each person’s Jungian preferences – this is how the four-letter acronyms were born.”

There are four possible pairs of personality traits:

  • Introversion (I) or Extraversion (E)
  • Intuition (N) or Sensing (S)
  • Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
  • Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)

Try personality test and get description of who you are and why you do things the way you do. What’s your personality type? Tell us!

Are you looking for a great way to create your next big presentation? Have you considered Haiku Deck? A colleague of mine suggested giving it a try and I must say that after two years of using the product – it just keeps improving. Why do I like it? It guides you, as the presenter, to boil down your thoughts into what’s essential. The goal of any presentation is to get your point across and this product helps you do just that!

Haiku Deck comes with pre-configured templates, designs, stock images, and filters to create a bold, clear communication. What I like best about it, is that your work displays nicely on desktops or mobile devices. In the pro version, you can even download the files to edit them locally in PowerPoint rather than trying to perfect them in the cloud.

If you are looking for a great way to product professional looking presentations, give Haiku Deck a try.
