Need Photoshop or Illustrator?

5 Sep

Are you an aspiring graphic artist or web designer? The industry standard is the Adobe Creative Suite, but you may not have the necessary income to afford the software in the cloud. Adobe does offer the CS2 Creative Suite for a free download. These products including Photoshop and Illustrator were released more than seven years ago and do not run on many modern operating systems. Adobe also no longer supports them. However, if you want to get your feet wet and start dabbling in the world of Photoshop and Illustrator, consider downloading these free versions.

Find the link for CS2

Have You Heard of Net Neutrality?

3 Sep

Do you think you should be limited where you can travel on the Internet? Recently this ability to freely surf is being challenged. So what does this mean? Wikipedia’s definition of Net Neutrality is “the principle that Internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites.”

The common analogy I think of is turning the Internet into a cable network. You pay for the basic Internet channels like Amazon or Facebook but if you want to go to the Disney website, you will have to pay extra.

Without Net Neutrality, cable and phone companies could carve the internet into fast and slow lanes. An ISP could slow down its competitors’ content or block political opinions it disagreed with. ISPs could charge extra fees to the few content companies that could afford to pay for preferential treatment — relegating everyone else to a slower tier of service.

Net Neutrality has been considered the internet’s guiding principle: It preserves the right to communicate freely online. Recently Apple joined the cause.

Here’s a site that’s leading the cause.
