Would you like to clean-up your Twitter feed? Do you have a bunch of old tweets that don’t mean a thing? What Is A Meme? The Internet Meme Database

1 Nov

Leading Hands Through Technology has talked about memes before and wrote up the definition of a meme a couple of years ago. It generally mimics a latest trend graphically and then this allows for it to be spread vitally. However recently I stumbled upon a website that archives and keeps track of memes – the Meme Internet Database aka Know Your Meme.

According to the website, “Know Your Meme was founded in 2008 to research and document Internet memes and viral phenomena. Its research is handled by an independent professional editorial and research staff and community members.”

If you are looking up a new meme or just want to look up an old one, you should start here.
