Are you on Mastadon?

You just never know what the next big thing is, but sometimes you get a feeling that something will just become the next technology buzz. Mastadon is a social media project that is open to join like Twitter but it is decentralized like e-mail and Slack.

According to the site, “Mastodon is a network of independent servers joining up to make one larger social network. We call these servers instances.”

Features of Mastadon:

  • Write posts, upload images, change privacy settings, and add content warnings with the icons.
  • Use the search bar to find people and look at hashtags, such as #illustration and #introductions.
  • Open the timelines find new people. The public one shows posts from everyone on The federated timeline shows public posts from everyone who people on follow.

You can not only create your own but your can pick from popular ones. The site shows the story for 20 seconds and then scrolls up to the top saying its a joke.

Some popular fake story topics range from politics to sports. For example, “Trump drops out of race” or “Tom Brady traded to 49ers”. If you want to spread some Tom Foolery on Facebook with some fake news, then check out this site!
