Welcome

DonorsChoose

Teachers ask. You choose. Students learn. Their website says, “DonorsChoose is a simple way to provide students in need resources that our public schools often lack. Here, teachers submit ideas for materials or experiences that their students need to learn. Individuals like you can choose a project and make it a classroom reality.”

Recently the site was a winner of the 2005 Amazon.com Nonprofit Innovation Award. DonorsChoose has stumbled upon a great idea. As you browse through the site, you can see how much is needed to complete each project. For example, you can donate $5 to this project or $20 to this project. The drawback is at this time the project is limited to only the Chicago, New York, North Carolina, Los Angeles, San Francisco and South Carolina areas.

Why not DonorsChoose in Cleveland, OH?
Cleveland has the worst graduation rate in the state. Only 38 percent of the students who enter its public high schools emerge four years later with a diploma.
