Skittles, Rainbow Of Social Networks

6 Apr

The Skittles website is an extreme example of social networking. The rainbow colored candy’s online presence is essentially just one big YouTube channel featuring a hovering remote control that enables you to click between Facebook, Twitter and their product information.

I find this very intriguing because Skittles decided to just use the technology already available online and not even bother building their own network. They figured that the return on investment (ROI) of building their own social networking website, testing it and maintaining wasn’t worth it. Using the tools that were already available online was good enough for them.
