YouTube to share revenue with contributors

Google bought out YouTube for two billion dollar last year and since that big step, all has been quiet on the western front, until now. The video giant will start awarding users cash for unique content. For example, LonelyGirl15, who’s a shining example of uniquely created content for YouTube, would get paid an undisclosed sum for each episode. If you unfamiliar with LonelyGirl15, she is a young actress who posed as a girl creating a daily video blog of her life, however she had the assistance of two directors. Could you imagine if YouTube made payments retroactive to its members for content?

I think this new proposition by YouTube to offer its users payment for unique content is a good idea. It will further push the quality of video content and turn amateurs into professionals.
